The round comprises a case (1) of cylindrical overall shape, one end (1a) of which is open while the opposite end is closed and exhibits a coaxial chamber (1b) intended to accommodate a propulsive cartridge (2) containing wadding (3), the projectile (4) being housed in a cup (5) fitted from the open end (1a) of said case (1). According to the invention, the case (1) has at least one means (6) capable, firstly, of holding back the wadding (3) upon percussion of the cartridge (2) so that said wadding (3) does not come into contact with the bottom (5a) of the cup (5) so that it is subjected directly to the pressure of the gases, and secondly to keep the wadding (3) inside the case (1).
