The device (200) has an earth electrode (221) inserted in ground, and an electric connection unit electrically connected to a buried structure (210) i.e. pipe. A switch (240) is provided for opening and closing an electrical connection circuit (230). An ammeter (233) measures current flowing in the electrical connection circuit. A voltmeter (232) measures a potential difference between the electrode and the electric connection unit. An acquisition and processing assembly (250) includes a control unit for controlling the switch. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring earth resistance and resistivity of soil.
