The clarifier comprises a carrier structure (2) and a membrane (3) having air outlet openings. The membrane is fluid-tightly connected to the carrier structure using a fixing unit (4). The carrier structure comprises a profile on its membrane side surface. The profile has elevations (6) arranged between the openings. The fixing unit is arranged in the openings. The membrane is secured to the carrier structure or in the openings, and is provided in the in a rest state of the aerator clarifier. The clarifier comprises a carrier structure (2) and a membrane (3) having air outlet openings. The membrane is fluid-tightly connected to the carrier structure using a fixing unit (4). The carrier structure comprises a profile on its membrane side surface. The profile has elevations (6) arranged between the openings. The fixing unit is arranged in the openings. The membrane is secured to the carrier structure or in the openings, and is provided in the in a rest state of the aerator clarifier. An abutment portion of the membrane in an operating state of the aerator clarifier is provided in the openings. The fixing unit is provided as a fixing tape or strap, which completely surrounds the carrier structure. The carrier structure has an air inlet for pressing air between the profile or the membrane-side surface of the carrier structure and the membrane in the operating state such that the membrane apart from the abutment portion the operating state is lifted from the profile. The carrier structure is present in the form of a piece, and is integral with the profile. A support structure (5) is arranged on the carrier structure. The support structure and carrier structure are formed as separate components. The profile is arranged on the support structure. The carrier structure has an upper surface for surrounding a frame, which defines a receptacle for the support structure. The profile is formed as a wave profile having crests or elevations and rectilinear wave troughs or depressions. The fixing unit is further arranged in each of the troughs. The crests or elevations of the profile are formed as cylindrical stumps and/or of truncated cones. The carrier structure and/or the support structure has a rectangular shape. The depressions extend parallel to a side wall and an edge of the carrier structure. The air outlet openings are formed in the membrane as slots.
