The present invention relates to a night aimer for vulcan utilizing a thermal camera and a method thereof. The night aimer for vulcan is composed of a thermal camera which detects infrared energy emitted from a target object and convert the detected infrared energy into thermal image data and outputs the same; a leading troop driving device which is attached to the thermal camera and which rotates the thermal camera toward the target object; and a monitor which displays the thermal image data converted by the thermal camera on a screen. Additionally, the night aimer for vulcan includes an automatic target sensing unit which detects the target object existing inside the image by applying sensing-tracing algorithm to the converted thermal image data and outputs detected target data to the monitor. According to the night aimer for vulcan utilizing the thermal camera and the method thereof, objects are clearly distinguished and identified by using temperature difference by using the thermal camera of which a detection scope and an image quality are better than night sight equipment. The present invention enables the operation at night and day times and enables transmission and observation under even night combat conditions, thereby maximizing combat capability.
