The present invention provides E. coli which overexpresses malonyl-CoA transformed or cotransformed by an expression vector containing one or more nucleotide sequences selected among: (a) a nucleotide sequence encoding acetyl-CoA carboxylase carboxyltransferase subunit alpha; (b) a nucleotide sequence encoding acetyl-CoA carboxylase biotin carboxyl carrier proteins; (c) a nucleotide encoding acetyl-CoA carboxylase biotin carboxylase subunit; and (d) a nucleotide encoding acyl-carrier-protein S-malonyltransferase. A recombinant heterologous E. coli enhances intracellular and extracellular production of malonyl acids which are a material at an initial step of a fatty acid biosynthesis pathway and increases the content of fatty acids.
