The present application relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing muramyl-dipeptides, or analogues, derivatives, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof for promoting osteanagenesis or osteogenesis. The composition containing muramyl-dipeptides of the present application promotes the differentiation of osteoblasts which are bone forming cells, unlike an existing passive therapeutic agent which mainly suppresses bone absorption based on a mechanism which reduces the function of osteoclasts.
