The present invention relates to a chlorella vulgaris YSL001 KCTC 12144BP strain, a new strain, more specifically, to a noble chlorella vulgaris YSL001 KCTC 12144BP strain that can generate hydrogen by activating hydrogen forming enzyme under the anaerobic and organic matter conditions, at the same time, the aerobic condition or the independent nutrient condition with oxygen in the air compared with the conventional green algae having limit to hydrogen generation under the natural condition in which majority of research is conducted on generation of anaerobic hydrogen under the condition of abundant organic matters, so that the generating hydrogen rarely occurs.
