The temperature measurement device has a temperature measuring sensor that is arranged in a catheter (10) which is untempered. Several electric lines (13) are arranged in lumen (16-18) of the catheter. A sensor is provided with a contact surface for contact with blood, so that the contact surface is provided to form a defined outer surface portion of the catheter. A guide wire (19) is arranged moveably in longitudinal direction by the catheter. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a cooling catheter; and (2) a method for intravascular temperature measurement of blood.
