The apparatus has a transporting device that is provided for transporting the swing top bottle (1) in conveying direction. An inspection device is provided for inspecting a sealing plug (2-2) of ironing closure (2). A positioning device is provided with a rotating unit for rotating the swing top bottle about cylinder longitudinal axis (LA), and an aligning unit for aligning the ironing closure. An electromagnet is provided for generating the magnetic force at the ironing closure of swing top bottle in range of 1000N to 3000N.
