The present invention relates to a variant microorganism retaining high production ability of a fermentation product and a method for preparing a fermentation product using the variant microorganism. More specifically, the present invention relates to a variant microorganism retaining high production ability of a fermentation product such as lactic acid, succinic acid, or ethanol, and having a deletion in a gene which is involved in the respiration, electron transfer, or oxidation-reduction reaction and selected from the gene level of intestinal bacteria, and a method for preparing a high yield of a fermentation product by culturing the variant microorganism under anaerobic conditions. The present invention provides a variant microorganism having a deletion in a gene involved in the oxidation-reduction path and regulation of the microorganism and retaining characteristics of producing a high concentration of lactic acid, succinic acid, or ethanol while remarkably reducing the productions of the other fermentation products. Further, the present invention provides a method for preparing a high yield of lactic acid, succinic acid, or ethanol, by culturing the variant microorganism.
