The present invention is directed to a method for recovering fatty acid from waste glycerol containing fatty acid salt. More specifically directed to a method for recovering from a detergent or surfactant, a higher fatty acid such as waste glycerol by-product of the biodiesel production process, for use as a raw material of fine chemicals.
