A mold transformer diagnostic system using a severity assessment and a method thereof are disclosed to accurately diagnose the state of a mold transformer as a method of determining the risk of the mold transformer by severity analysis about a state risk. The disclosed mold transformer diagnostic method using the severity assessment comprises (a) a step of receiving basic information of the mold transformer (S101); (b) a step of measuring the vibration of the mold transformer in a non-contact manner (S102); (c) a step of performing fast Fourier transform for a measured vibration signal and extracting a vibration frequency (S103); (d) a step of calculating the severity to determine the state risk of the mold transformer by evaluating the extracted vibration frequency (S104-S105); (e) and a step of determining the state of the mold transformer by comparing the calculated severity to a reference determination value for state determination and controlling state display and solution display (S106-S107).
