PURPOSE: A compound which contains iodine and gadolinium paramagnetic elements and is used as an MRI/CT dual contrast agent is provided to effectively diagnose cancer. CONSTITUTION: A compound is denoted by chemical formula 1. The compound has a structure of chemical formula 1a. A method for preparing the compound comprises the steps of reacting a compound of chemical formula 4 with a gadolinium precursor and binding gadolinium to a ligand by coordinate bond.
