CASCADE VOLTAGE AMPLIFIER AND METHOD OF ACTIVATING A PLURALITY OF CASCADED ELECTRON TUBE STAGES

A cascade voltage amplifier is disclosed that produces a pulsed or continuous wave amplified output comprising one or more non-final stages with switching and electron tubes configured with a class A or class C amplifying structure. The final stage includes an electron tube composed of a class A or class C amplifying structure. At least one non-final stage and final stage are connected in series and the amplified output has a voltage of at least 1000 volts. Further disclosed is a method of activating a plurality of cascaded tube stages in a common vacuum enclosure. Advantageously, a sufficient amount of energy supplied to the first stage is continuously propagated through the interference stage to the final stage to facilitate activation of all tube stages.
