The present invention relates to a control method of a refrigerator capable or preventing refrigerant brash. The control method includes: a step of detecting if a freezer compartment is on; a step of determining if a compressor is off when the freezer is on; and a step of supplying a refrigerant to a refrigerator compartment by controlling a opening/closing valve when the compressor is on for a certain period of time to achieve the pressure balance of the refrigerator. According to the present invention, when the compressor is off while the freezer compartment is on by the operation of the compressor, the refrigerant is supplied into the refrigerator compartment which has higher pressure than the freezer compartment in order to achieve the pressure balance.
