A method and a system for implementing a multi-hop-based long polling mechanism in an NAT environment are provided. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a double long-polling mechanism where a subscriber (D'A, DA, GA, and etc.) wanting to subscribe modified information for a resource of interest performs a first long polling on an SCL (DSCL, GSCL and etc.) which relays, and performs a second long polling on an SCL (NSCL and etc.) including a resource which the SCL wants to subscribe is provided.
