Enabling Strong basic security mechanisms in publish/subscribe system is challenging task. Such Systems are loosely coupled and have content based routing, So provision of Authentication and confidentiality is difficult to achieve. With the help of identity based Encryption this paper provides more advanced approach to enable Authentication and Confidentiality in broker-less publish/subscribe systems. Identity based Encryption (IBE) is based on pairing based cryptography, in which Public key is a valid string. This string is the unique identity of user. Encryption is done with public key and for decryption private key is used. Hierarchical identity based Encryption (HIBE) is generalization of IBE, provides efficient approach to solve security issues. Making use of IBE we can experience reduction in number of times message gets encrypted, as a result Encryption time is decreased and Bandwidth of channel is reduced.
