Disclosed are a system and a method for providing advertisement content. The method for providing advertisement content includes the steps of: requesting, by a terminal, advertisement content associated with an application to a preappointed advertisement content platform device; providing the terminal with the advertisement content by the advertisement content platform device as per the advertisement content request from the terminal if the advertisement content platform device has the providable advertisement content associated with the application; and requesting, by the terminal, the advertisement content associated with the application to another advertisement content platform device as per the advertisement content request from the terminal if the advertisement content platform device does not have the providable advertisement content associated with the application so that an idle inventory of the advertisement content can be shared with another external advertisement content platform device in a circumstance that the advertisement content associated with the application can be requested to the appointed advertisement content platform device only.
