The present invention relates to a composition for reducing fermentation gas containing an elm extract as an active ingredient, and a method for inhibiting fermentation gas production of ruminant animals comprising a step of giving the elm extract to the ruminant animals. When supplying a mixed composition of plant extracts having antibacterial activity of the present invention, a feed-dry matter digestive rate in the rumen of the rumen animals is not affected, and production of the rumen fermentation gas can be reduced. Therefore, a contribution rate to global warming by the rumen fermentation gas can be reduced and energy loss in the rumen can be reduced, thereby achieving the improvement of the productivity of green environmentally friendly livestock products and livestock.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
