The present invention relates to a method for managing power demand of an electric vehicle charging station and a system for managing power demand of an electric vehicle charging station for providing the same. The method for managing power demand of an electric vehicle charging station and the system for managing power demand of an electric vehicle charging station for providing the same comprise a target power consumption setting step of setting target power consumption of the electric vehicle charging station according to participation in a demand response event; a charge power consumption determination step of comparing the real time charging power consumption and the target power consumption of the electric vehicle charging station to determine whether or not to adjust the charge power consumption; a charge level setting step of setting a plurality of charge levels differentiated in charging time and charging supply for unit time with respect to an electric vehicle, and calculating each charge price with respect to the charge levels on the basis of profits through the demand response event; and a charge information supply step of supplying the charge price to a consumer of the charge levels in order to induce adjustment of the charge power consumption of the electric vehicle charging station. According to the present invention, charge power of the electric vehicle charging station, which is an electric vehicle charging infrastructure, is incorporated in a demand respond source, and a power demand of the electric vehicle charging station is effectively managed, thereby contributing to the national energy demand management policy.
