The present invention relates to an apparatus to control continuous playing of image content in series in a video-on-demand (VOD) service and a method thereof and, more specifically, to an apparatus to control continuous playing of image content in series capable of preventing image content viewing for an excessively long periods of time by limiting the number of image content items provided in series in a VOD service when continuously played. According to the present invention, when a plurality of image content items included in series are continuously played, parents may come to a mutual agreement with the adolescent or child with weak self-control for viewing, and accordingly store the same setting information to limit continuous playing whereby the adolescent or the child may effectively be induced in keeping with the agreed degree of viewing. Thus, viewing of image content for long periods of time can be effectively prevented, and aggravation of dissatisfaction to the children can be prevented by not terminating the content of the played image during in the middle of viewing.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
