METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING COLLISIONS OF OBJECTS IN A VIRTUAL SCENE USING A RECONFIGURABLE PROCESSOR

The present invention relates to a method to detect an object collision in a physical-based animation. The method includes a step of allocating at least one preset command in wide phase collision detection to be performed by using a reconfigurable processor. The preset command includes a step of updating a bounding box (AABB) arranged on an axis of an object including an object primitive changing in a current frame; a step of determining a collision pair of the object; and a step of transmitting the collision pair for narrow phase collision detection. The method is performed by the reconfigurable processor using at least one program formed in shared memory according to various embodiments.
