The present invention relates to an energy storage system using a lithium-ion battery that is charged using, e.g., sunlight, wind power, or commercial AC power in a low electricity demand and is then discharged to supply electricity in a high electricity demand or in an emergency, thereby maximizing a power utilization rate. An energy storage system using a lithium-ion battery according to the present invention includes: a battery part (110) including the lithium-ion polymer battery that is charged with power supplied from the outside and is discharged to supply the power to an apparatus as a load; an input/output part (140) manipulating and displaying an operation condition of the battery part (110); and a battery control part (120), which includes a data communication module to receive a remote control command from the outside, or controls an operation of the battery part (110) according to the operation condition set through the input/output part (140). Thus, an energy storage system is embodied using a lithium-ion battery having a high energy density, thereby increasing an energy storage efficiency, and the lithium-ion battery is flexibly discharged through a remote control to supply power to a load in a time of peak demand for power.
