The purpose of the present invention is to provide a functional cosmetic composition for relieving photoaging of skin, which comprises lespedeza cuneata (LPC) extract, more specifically, a functional cosmetic composition for anti-aging of skin and relieving wrinkles, which comprises 0.01-30 wt% of lespedeza cuneata LPC extract. The purpose of the present invention is achieved by the steps of: preparing lespedeza cuneata extract and a sample containing the lespedeza cuneata extract; quantifying the total polyphenol and flavonoid of the prepared lespedeza cuneata extract and measuring activity of an antioxidant enzyme; performing a skin-aging provocation test on mice and measuring skin erythema dose and oil and moisture content; taking a biopsy of the mice; and comparing and evaluating the expression ratio of genes which are extracted from tissues obtained through the above steps and amplified by an RT-PCR. The composition is very effective in preventing aging by regenerating collagen fiber, providing antioxidant effects, and relieving skin wrinkles.
