The invention relates to a cooling apparatus for growing a sapphire single crystal. The cooling apparatus comprises a crucible bottom which is disposed on the inner bottom surface and to which a seed crystal is fixed, a supply pipe supplying refrigerant to the part to which the seed crystal is fixed, and a refrigerant circulating part of a refrigerant discharge pipe discharging the refrigerant used for cooling the crucible bottom. A first cooling part with a double-pipe structure is formed by an inner pipe connecting an inlet of the refrigerant supply pipe and an outlet of the refrigerant discharge pipe and an outer pipe with the refrigerant circulation inside and around the inner pipe. A cooling tank receiving the first cooling part and a second cooling part filled with cooling water are formed inside.
