The present invention relates to a network lighting system allowing a user to be able to advertise and learn in discussion using an LED and a projector, and an operating method thereof. The network lighting system comprises: a video displaying unit performing a lighting function, displaying projector videos when a projector switching signal is detected, and displaying advertisement videos according to whether or not the motions of passersby are detected; and a data inputting unit transmitting the projector switching signal and input data for the videos displayed by the projector, wherein the video displaying unit comprises: a communicating part communicating with an external server through the data input unit and an internet network; a signal detecting part detecting the projector switching signal from the data input unit through the communicating part; a video storing part input with the advertisement videos through the communicating part or an external interface module, and then storing the advertisement videos; a video controlling part determining the detection of the projector switching signal through the signal detecting part, and setting up information for the videos displayed by the projector; an LED lighting part turned on depending on the control of the video controlling part when the projector switching signal is not detected; and a projector part displaying the videos depending on the control of the video controlling part.
