Disclosed are an experiment table safety apparatus for preventing safety accident in an experiment room, and a method for monitoring an experiment table. The experiment table safety apparatus of the present invention comprises: a plurality of gauge sensors for sensing the strain of an experiment table frame on which an experiment target is placed; a sensing controller for calculating a strain rate (f) by using a normal state value before strain (Vi) and the maximum strain value (Vm) of the experiment table frame, and then comparing the calculated strain rate (f) with a previously designated strain rate value (Va) to determine the occurrence or non-occurrence of warning; a photographer for photographing the experiment table frame and an experiment structure using an image camera when the occurrence of warning is confirmed as a result of the determination; and a portable terminal for receiving an warning message generated in response to the occurrence of warning and image information photographed by the photographer.
