Near-infrared light absorbing dye compound having an anion represented by the formula (1). (A ¹ represents a methyl group with a hydrogen atom or a trifluoromethyl group. R ⁰ is 'represents a. R' hydroxyl group or -OC (= O) -R is a straight, branched of 1 to 50 carbon atoms which may contain a hetero atom or one of the cyclic hydrocarbon group.) Near-infrared light absorbing dye compounds of the invention in addition to excellent optical properties and heat resistance, in particular because it is excellent in solvent solubility, is excellent in coating properties and workability in the film formation step. In addition, near-infrared light absorbing dye compounds of the invention do not contain a heavy metal in the structure, and thus can be suitably used in the manufacturing process of semiconductor devices. ;
