The present invention relates to a fill-up type of water diverting method of a manhole and a water diverting apparatus, and allows simple and effective water diverting in a large and a medium conduit using the difference in water level of sewage without a large water pump, and installation and demolition work of the apparatus is simple. The present invention as described above, for the water diverting method, comprises: a step of allowing the first manhole to fill up with sewage flowed from the upstream through a first conduit; and a step of guiding sewage overflowing from the first manhole through an inlet of the first manhole to a water diverting pipe and then guiding the sewage to a second manhole.
