PURPOSE: A single phase lithium-deficient lithium multi-component transition metal oxide of layered crystal structure and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to enhance energy density, high-capacity, high stability and long lifetime property. CONSTITUTION: A single phase lithium-deficient lithium multi-component transition metal oxide of layered crystal structure is represented by chemical formula 1. The chemical formula 1 is as follows: Li1-aM11-x-y-zM2xM3yM4zO2. In the chemical formula 1, M1 is transition metal having one or more oxidation number of +3, M2 indicates transition metal having one or more oxidation number of +4, M3 indicates transition metal having one or more oxidation number of +5, M4 indicates one or more elements having oxidation number of +2, and x+2y-z0, x+y+z1, 0a1, 0x0.75, 0y0.6, 0z0.3.
