A channel estimator, an OFDM receiver including the same and an operation method thereof are disclosed. The channel estimator comprises: a least square (LS) channel estimation module for estimating first channel state data by an LS channel estimation method based on preamble signals; a smoothing channel estimation module for smoothing the estimated first channel state data and outputting the smoothed first channel state data as second channel state data; a controller for outputting selection signals among the preamble signals according to a size of a noise component and the estimated first channel state data; and a selector for outputting the estimated first channel state data and the second channel state data in response to the selection signals.
