Disclosed is a water gate opening and closing structure including: a water gate structure which has an opening formed in the front face part to allow a flow of water, a sealing member disposed along the circumference of the opening and guide frames disposed at both sides of the opening in the longitudinal direction to be opposed to each other; a door plate which is mounted on the guide frame in a liftable manner not to come into contact with the sealing member and of which upper end is connected with a driving part so as to open and close the opening of the water gate structure while lifting up and down according to operation of the driving part; and a pressing part which is mounted inside the guide frame to press the door plate to get in contact with the sealing member when the water gate is closed but to release pressure of the door plate to be lifted up and down without getting in contact with the sealing member when the water gate is opened. The water gate opening and closing structure according to an embodiment of the present invention can prevent a water leakage and extend the lifespan of the sealing member by enhancing sealability when the water gate is closed because the sealing member is not worn out or deformed in spite of a long-term opening and closing actions of the door plate because the door plate which opens and closes the opening of the water gate structure is lifted up and down without getting in contact with the sealing member formed on the circumference of the opening and the door plate which stops the opening is pressed to get in contact with the sealing member when the water gate is closed so as to maintain sealability.
