PURPOSE: A heat pump device in which an outdoor heat exchanger for non-frosting continuous operation is formed and a defrosting method are provided to perform heating operation with a plurality of sub outdoor heat exchangers and defrosting operation at the same time, thereby preventing a temporary vacuum of a heating water supply during a defrosting process. CONSTITUTION: A heat pump device in which an outdoor heat exchanger for non-frosting continuous operation is formed includes an indoor heat exchanger (20), an outdoor heat exchanger (30), a plurality of sub outdoor heat exchangers (60, 70), a defrosting refrigerant supply pipe (80), and a defrosting refrigerant recovering pipe (90). The indoor heat exchanger is utilized as a condenser in heating operation and an evaporator in cooling operation as high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant sent from a compressor (10) is heat-exchanged with an indoor heat source. The outdoor heat exchanger is utilized as an evaporator in heating operation and a condenser in cooling operation as a refrigerant sent from an expansion valve (50) is heat-exchanged with external air. The auxiliary outdoor heat exchangers perform a heat exchanging function for the outdoor heat exchanger in which the heat exchanging function is stopped when frost is generated on the outdoor heat exchanger. The defrosting refrigerant pipe is branched from a pipe connecting a four-way valve (40) and the indoor heat exchanger and connected to outlets of the indoor and outdoor heat exchanger and the auxiliary heat exchangers in heating operation. A solenoid valve (V1) is installed on the defrosting refrigerant pipe and removes the frost on the outdoor unit as some of the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant being transferred to the indoor heat exchanger is transferred to the outdoor heat exchanger. The defrosting refrigerant pipe is branched from a pipe connecting the indoor heat exchanger and the expansion valve and connected to inlets of the outdoor heat exchanger and the auxiliary heat exchangers. A check valve (92) is installed on the defrosting refrigerant pipe so that the refrigerant having removed the frost on the outdoor heat exchanger is transferred to the expansion valve.
