The present invention relates to a method for increasing resistance to environmental stress of plants, compared to a non-transformant, which comprises a step of overexpressing an OsCYP18-2 gene by transforming a recombinant vector including Oryza sativa cyclosporin A-binding protein (OsCYP18-2)-coding gene derived from rice, to a plant cell. Important features of the OsCYP18-2 gene in high salt concentration or drought stress resistance mechanism has been verified, therefore the gene is expected to be effective in increasing resistance to salt or drought stress of rice.
