The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing a fermented Gui Pi Tang product for preventing or treating vascular diseases, to a functional health food containing said fermented product for preventing or ameliorating vascular diseases, and to a method for using said fermented product to prevent and treat vascular diseases in non-human animals. The Gui Pi Tang fermented product according to the present invention promotes the generation of nitrogen monoxide in vascular endothelial cells and inhibits the angiotensin-converting enzyme to exhibit the effect of relaxing blood vessels, and therefore, the fermented Gui Pi Tang product according to the present invention can be produced as a pharmaceutical composition or as a functional health food, and may be widely used in preventing and treating vascular diseases.
