REAL TIME IMAGE SYNTHESIS APPARATUS AND IMAGE SYNTHESIS METHOD

The present invention relates to a real-time image synthesis apparatus which synthesizes photographed images with a desired background image in real time and displays the synthesized image on a monitor by being applied to a real-time image synthesis system which is installed in a karaoke room or a karaoke saloon to produce user created contents (UCC) while users sing a song or play a musical instrument, and a method thereof. The method comprises: a first step for determining and calling a background image according to a user selection signal and determining a region and a position in the background image in which a user image is synthesized with; a second step for extracting a region to be synthesized from a user image inputted through a camera; a third step for synthesizing the background image obtained in the first step and the user image obtained in the second step in a mixing or masking mode; and a fourth step for providing a monitor with an image synthesized in the third step and displaying the image thereon.
