Crystal of NDRG2, and novel peptide having anti-cancer activity for specific colorectal cancer and uses thereof

PURPOSE: A novel peptide anticancer agent with colon cancer cell-specific activity is provided to ensure excellent selectivity in a colon cancer cell line and to be used as an active ingredient of an anticancer agent for colon cancer. CONSTITUTION: A peptide for preventing or treating colon cancer contains an amino acid sequence of general sequence I(GWX1DWAAX2KX3X4GX5T). The peptide has an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. The peptide is derived from a 6th helix of NDRG2. The peptide additionally contains a cell internalization sequence. The cell internalization sequence is polyarginine, antennapedia, TAT, HIV-Tat, penetratin, Antp-3A(Antp mutant), Buforin II, transportan, MAP(model amphiphilic peptide), K-FGF, Ku70, prion, pVEC, Pep-1, SynB1, Pep-7, HN-1, BGSC (bis-guanidinium-spermidin-cholesterol), or BGTC (bis-guanidinium-tren-cholesterol). The peptide additionally contains a capping motif at N-terminal or C-terminal for maintaining stable activity. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating colon cancer contains the peptide as an active ingredient and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
