The present invention relates to a billboard and a method for controlling the billboard. The billboard includes a display part displaying image information to the outside; a housing body rotating the display part to a desired position; a first detection part obtaining detection information about the front part of the display part and formed on the display part; a control part generating a control signal to make the housing body change the position of the display part by using the detection information obtained by the first detection part. The billboard attracts a pedestrian's eyes towards the billboard by rotating and moving the billboard towards the direction of movement of the pedestrian or to a group of pedestrians, and has the effect of providing lots of information to the pedestrians in a short time.
