PURPOSE: A water treating agent for removing hexavalent chrome in wastewater and a water treatment method using the same remove hexavalent chrome with small amount of the water treating agent by using phosphorus pentoxide instead of strong acid for lowering the pH level of wastewater in a conventional way. CONSTITUTION: A water treating agent for removing hexavalent chrome comprises 500-1000 parts by weight of acidic water and 100-500 parts by weight of diluted solution based on 100 parts by weight of slag. The acidic water has 0.015-0.030 weight% of phosphorus pentoxide. The diluted solution contains a mixture of 0.1-0.5 weight% of sodium sulfide and 0.1-0.5 weight% of NaOH. The pH of the acidic water is 3-4. And the pH of the diluted solution is 12-13.
