The present invention relates to a driving system of a hybrid electric vehicle applying a dual electric motor and a method of driving the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a driving system of a hybrid electric vehicle applying a dual electric motor which applies two electric motors to a hybrid electric vehicle to operate one electric motor while driving under a condition requiring relatively low velocity and low torque, and simultaneously operate two electric motors while driving under a condition requiring relatively high velocity and high torque. The driving system of a hybrid electric vehicle applying a dual electric motor includes: a fuel engine; a battery charging electrical energy produced by the fuel engine; an inverter transforming the electrical energy charged in the battery to an alternating current power source; an electric motor using the alternating current power source transformed in the inverter to generate a driving force to rotate a driving shaft; and a control unit adjusting the driving force of the electric motor by the inverter to control velocity and torque, wherein the electric motor includes a first electric motor and a second electric motor installed in parallel between the inverter and the driving shaft, a gearbox combining outputs of the first electric motor and the second electric motor to rotate the driving shaft installed on the output terminals of the first electric motor and the second electric motor, and the inverter includes a first inverter and a second inverter installed between the battery and the first electric motor and between the battery and the second electric motor, respectively.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
