The present invention relates to a method for controlling a file by enabling a filtering drive installed in an operation system to perform back-up operations of hidden files comprising a step for setting a protective list which limits the access of an application for a file and/or a folder; a step for filtering the protective list in order to the application accesses the remaining file and/or the folder excluding the file and/or the folder which are set as the protective list; and a step for performing the back-up operations for the file and/or the folder which are set as the protective list and changing the attribute for the remaining file and/or the folder when the application changes the attribute of the upper folder of the file and/or the folder which are set as the protective list. Therefore, the present invention is provided to prevent the change of the attribute of an object folder (file) when the upper folder is physically changed.
