FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: method involves using atomic tritium to treat an organic compound deposited on the wall of a reaction vessel cooled to 77 K, containing gaseous tritium, said vessel having a tungsten filament for activating tritium, which can be connected to electric current. The method is characterised by that only part of the vessel on which the organic target is not deposited is cooled to 77 K, the organic substance being situated on the other part of the reaction vessel and is kept at 291-298 K. Tritium is activated by heating the tungsten wire to 1500-2000 K with short pulses not longer than 10 s.;EFFECT: method considerably increases overall and specific radioactivity of labelled compounds.;11 ex
