FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in definition of maximum gradient of the Earth magnetic field on the valve body surface. Body of all-welded ball valve (full-scale specimen) valve body blank are destructed after reduction without bore for neck, selected from one lot of manufactured articles. Ultimate strength of valve body and valve body blank after reduction without bore for neck is defined to reveal a correlation relationship.
