The sensor (1) has matrix-like pixels arrangement comprising a surface camera (7). An evaluation unit (10) evaluates output signals of the surface camera for decoding bar codes (6). A polarized optical camera is formed with the surface camera. The polarized-optical camera comprises a main lens (9) and a microlens array (8) i.e. matrix-like microlens arrangement, which is provided upstream of the surface camera and arranged in a focal plane of the main lens. The surface camera lies at short distance behind the focal plane.
