The present invention relates to a mechanical songbird comprising a housing having a drive mechanism, an actuator (10) of said drive mechanism and a trigger member (16) drivingly connected to said actuating member (10) for trigger the drive mechanism when said trip member (16) is operated by a user, and a power source for powering at least said actuation mechanism. According to the invention, the trigger member (16) is arranged to occupy a first position in which it is accessible to the user from outside the housing and a second position in which it is retracted within the housing and in that the singing bird further comprises a safety device (20) designed to cooperate firstly with the power source and secondly with the tripping member (16) to move the between its first and second positions depending on the level of the reserve, the first position being occupied when the power reserve is above a safe threshold and the second position being occupied when the power reserve is at -Dessous a safety threshold.
