The device has vertical protection strips for enclosing edges of a door of a car as the door is opened. One of the protection strips is moved at the door and outwardly pressed by a spring. A rocker retracts the protection strips by contacting with a car body while closing the door, so that the rocker is not visible when closing the door. The rocker is attached with the spring against a door frame when closing the door.
