The device (1) has a tubular element (10), a cover (20) for closing the tubular element on one side, and a base (30) for closing the tubular element on the other side. A piston rod (40) is provided, which is guided by the cover for moving a piston (50) in the tubular element. The device partially has a triangular cross-section. An inlet element (26) is provided for intake of a control medium in the tubular element for moving the piston, and an outlet element (36) is provided for discharge of the control medium from the tubular element. An independent claim is included for a method for force intensification using a force intensification device.
