Use of (a) pantothenol (dexpanthenol) or its ester and/or pantothenic acid or its salt together and/or in combination with (b) at least one imidazoline-based alpha -sympathomimetic activity or its salts for the reduction of the systemic resorption of the imidazoline-based alpha -sympathomimetic activity with the treatment of rhinitis and/or for preparing a drug for treating rhinitis, is claimed. An independent claim is included for a combination therapeutic agent in form of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of rhinitis for reducing imidazoline-based alpha -sympathomimetic activity, where the pharmaceutical composition contains (a) and (b). ACTIVITY : Antiallergic; Antiinflammatory. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
