The method involves heating a printing fluid (45), particularly a polyacryl-containing liquid and transmitting the printing fluid from an intermediate carrier (2) on a printing material (43). The primary substance of a fluid conditioning agent (47) containing calcium and aluminum cations increases the viscosity of the printing fluid of the intermediate carrier in a contact area by a reaction with a secondary substance of the printing fluid. The printing fluid is formed in the contact area a film. The printing fluid outside the contact area comprises a lower viscosity than in the contact area.
