The vehicle seat has a seat depth adjustable seat portion that with a cushion portion (1A) and another seat depth adjustable cushion portion (1B) arranged relative to the former cushion portion. A reference section (2A,2B) is assigned to each cushion portion. The reference sections form an overlapping area (U) between the cushion portions in area of an intermediate space (Z). The intermediate space changes width by the seat depth adjustment of the latter cushion portion. The reference sections are defined together with the ends of the elastic tension elements (10,11) in the overlapping area.
